Did the Houston Texans get it right with Mario?
Did you guys see the game or highlights from the Texans/Broncos last night? Well the number 1 pick from a year ago look good with 3.5 sacks and numerous QB pressures. My question is now "did the Houston Texans get it right with that pick"? Let me be the first to say I was one of the ones saying that the Texans were out of there minds for passing on R. Bush and V. Young! Who is laughing now; Bush I think has proven he is not a every down back and Vince is not a top-notch QB yet. I think Houston might have gotten it right, as time go on we will see but it looks like Mario is making his case this year he was deserving of that number 1 pick.

Mario was the best in that draft...the best DE! If I'm Houston I pick Bush first...even knowing what I know now! Why? Because he'd be running in a different offensive scheme. Sean Payton was calling all the right plays for Bush when Deuce was healthy. Since then, he's trying to run Bush the same way he ran Deuce with a few Bush specific plays thrown in. Only a few teams have been able to run the same plays with different style backs (Steelers - Bettis/Parker) (Giants - Barber/Jacobs, which is opposite of the Steelers)
So if Bush would've went to Houston he'd be more successful as the feature back because the run game would've been tailored to his style from the start.
Not to mention the Saints run blocking, no one can run behind that line...LOL!
apparently stecker can!!! Bush is a weapon. Not a certain position. He is the one guy you can put at any position and you will get a mismatch. Bush more successfull in Houston!!! I laugh at that statement, HA HA! To be successful in the NFL you need to run NORTH/SOUTH. Mario is not worth a first pick in anytype of draft.
Just because the Saints can't figure out how to use him as a feature back doesn't mean the Texans don't. Stecker who?
I agree about the play calling I think Bush is better when someone is taking the pressure off of him ie...Deuce! But what if Mario turns into Reggie White, the guy could make havoc for Payton Manning for years. Don't forget R. White help put Green Bay over the hump when they couldn't beat the Cowboys back in the NFC Championship Games back in the late 90's! I say let's see in a couple of years, this guy might make us all eat crow!
So much for that making havoc on Peyton for years, huh? LOL!!! Did you see the butt kicking that Peyton displayed!!!! Houston is still 3 to 4 defensive parts away from being nice. Mario is/was not the answer.
